Now may be a good time to hit your friend who works at Oprah's magazine for a loan. They may have a spare dime -- or 100,000.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has gifted an iPad and $10,000 to each employee of the O magazine to mark the publication's 10th anniversary.

'As a thank you for their hard work and dedication, Oprah Winfrey surprised the staff of O, The Oprah Magazine, with an Apple iPad and a cheque for $10,000, to commemorate the magazine's 10th anniversary,' contactmusic.com quoted a spokesperson for Winfrey as saying.

What'd your boss do for you?

Maybe Mo'Nique, Lee, and Oprah and Tyler will win an Oscar -- who can say.  What's for certain is that they're off to a good commercial start, as Precious, the most talked about black film in quite some time, pulled in $1.8 million while playing on just eighteen screens.

But not me baby, I'm too  precious.  Fuck off!

Rihanna's interview with Diane Sawyer seems to be a good first step helping shine a light on domestic abuse the the stigmas attached to it.

“No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.”

And, of course, some who take it in stride.

This is nothing to be upset about.  Things are changing people.  No one has a permanent hold on any office or title now -- and that's the way it should be.  This shouldn't have to be said to black people, particularly in light of the recent tone and tenor of the "tea party" protests.
