Here in the blog-o-sphere there's been lamenting and gnashing of teeth over the cancelation of two black sit-coms (The Game and Everybody Hates Chris -- never mind the facts that those shows were low-rated and had run for a combined 152 episodes in a day and age when even a Friends spin-off wasn't long for this world).  And there's great skepticism about whether or not Fox's Brothers will resurrect the black family sit-com.

Let's see... Chill Mitchell, CCH Pounder, the NFL Single Season Sack Leader and Apollo Creed.  Sure.  Why not?

But perhaps we're looking in the wrong place for comedy.  At least that's what it seems as some recent commercials have seemed sharper and funnier than anything we've seen on the air in a while.

Remember when hip-hop used to be fun and even funny?

Now there's so much today about being "hard" or "real" or "street" that nothing makes you smile anymore.

Well, Almost nothing. If Eminem was in on this I'm even more impressed, given hip-hop homophobia and general humorlessness.

Thank god for people like Kid Cudi, 88 Keys and The Cool Kids who realized that even rappers need to smile.
