So an HBCU freely and fairly elects its first non-black Miss Hampton resulting in some unhappy negroes.

And, of course, some who take it in stride.

This is nothing to be upset about.  Things are changing people.  No one has a permanent hold on any office or title now -- and that's the way it should be.  This shouldn't have to be said to black people, particularly in light of the recent tone and tenor of the "tea party" protests.

Hey, we're as pleased as anyone to find out that Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from the group looking to buy the St. Louis Rams, but we still find it odd that, according to his Twitter page, Rev. Al Sharpton will be taking the victory lap on this one.

Somebody's suffering from HNIC withdrawal.

Can't go wrong honoring Def Jam's 25 years.  Well, you could.  But they didn't.

But with Eddie Griffin, Flavor Flav, Hip-Hop Honors, Real Chance at Love, etc. on the network, has anyone else noticed that VH1 is out-BETing BET?

Hey, Charlie. You better get your house in order. Cause it doesn't look good, sir. Not at all.

We've been on the record about preferring Mad Men stay lily white rather than try and fail fully portray the black characters on the show vis a vis their white employers. That being said I'd watch a Carla spinoff any day. Until then, some brilliant mind tapped into Carla's thoughts via Twitter.
SELL

Rush Limbaugh being a part of the Rams ownership group

So far there seems to be a decent number of notable players who say they wouldn't play for him. Good for them. Let's hope we don't forget what he said about one of their brothers.

So Obama pledges an end to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".  We're unmoved.  Enough talk.  He knows what's right.  We know what's right.  And it's about time he pay more than lip service to the issue.
