The U.S. Supreme Court will soon be hearing a reverse discrimination case brought by Connecticut firefighters. In the case the city of New Haven threw out a firefighters' liutenents exam after no blacks passed the test.
Thirty-two percent of New Haven firefighters are black. So you know brothers can do the job.
The lesson should have been, "study harder next time, brothers". Instead a conservative leaning court could deal another blow to a policy that promotes inclusion into otherwise closed areas of opportunity. Affirmative Action works. Analysts here strongly believe that. What doesn't is quota systems (there's a difference).
