The news that Ross spent time as a Florida corrections officer wouldn't have been damaging were it not for the lengths to which he went to deny the story and the backwards logic of the brand of hip-hop he pedals, which tends to view gainful, licit employment as a negative. I can't imagine the street will react kindly.
