The Roland Burris circus sends the Index down for the day.
Analysts here believe Mr. Burris may very well be qualified to be a U.S. Senator, but even he has to know he made a deal with the devil by agreeing to be appointed by Illinois Governor Blagojevich.
To then cry "racism" does a disservice to him as a potential appointee and to those who have to combat actual instances of racism.
